Marine tourism by visiting small islands in Indonesia can be an alternative for those who live in cities and want to avoid noise.
Unfortunately, access to these small islands in Indonesia is not very good. However, the struggle to get to these small islands is worth the view and the atmosphere that is presented.
Good news, now there are several small islands that are being looked at for the promotion of tourism life. Through the development program of a National Marine Protected Area called Desa Wisata Bahari, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) will boost the existing tourism potential.
Here are five archipelagic regions in Indonesia with great tourism potential, which could be the next marine tourism destination:
1. Anambas Islands, Riau Islands
Located in the Riau Islands Province, Anambas Islands Marine Tourism Park has a lot of marine tourism potential. One of them is Durai Island, which is a paradise for turtles in the cluster of islands.
If you visit there, you can see for yourself and learn how turtle life is protected.
Even so, you must comply with existing regulations so as not to damage the habitat of the marine ecosystem guard.
Another marine tourism potential from the Anambas Islands is the fine-grained white sand that stretches for eight kilometers. In fact, the stretch of sand entered Letung and Bukit Padi Villages.
Walking along this stretch of sand will certainly make you have unforgettable memories.
Penjalin Island also offers exotic views, not only the stretch of clear blue sea that surrounds Penjalin Besar Island and Penjalin Kecil Island, in the distance, there is also a view of the hill.
The marine life contained in the Anambas Islands is no less competitive with other islands in Indonesia. Clear seawater can make visitors see marine life easily.
2. Pieh Island, West Sumatra
Clear seawater will take you to the view of marine life scattered in Pieh Island Marine Park. You can see everything from coral reefs, coral fish, to turtles.
However, one thing that makes Pieh Island interesting is the swamps on the mainland of the island. The swamp is directly connected to the sea so that the volume of water in it is affected by tides.
3. Banda Islands, Central Maluku
The potential for marine tourism is owned by the Banda Islands in Central Maluku. This archipelago consists of large and small islands which are rich in marine and land positions,
Kepulayan Banda is famous as a paradise for diving tourism, history, and culture.
For another marine biota, Banda Besar Island is recorded to have more than 300 species of coral. Meanwhile, in the bay waters of Banda-Neira Island, there are many preserved skipjack and pearl shellfish.
Another tourism potential that is in the spotlight is the existence of 25 dive points. Some of the most popular dive points are on Hatta Island which has a group of hammerhead sharks, and Pulau Ai which has several caves in its waters.
Although the Banda Islands have amazing marine tourism, the historical tourism on Banda-Neira Island is no less amazing. There, you can visit Belgica Fort which is located on a hill, Neira Mini Palace which faces directly to the ocean, and the former exile house of Bung Hatta, Sutan Syahrir, and doctor Tjipto Mangunkusumo.
4. Padaido Islands, Papua
The Padaido Islands are a group of islands east of Biak Island. The Padaido Islands Marine Tourism Park has been named as one of the marine tourism spots with the largest coral ecosystem in the world.
The embedding of the name is certainly not surprising. This is because these islands are the center for coral reef rehabilitation which has 95 species of coral.
In addition, other marine biotas that enliven the waters of the Padaido Islands are 155 species of diverse fish such as reef sharks and octopuses.
The diversity of sea creatures and the beauty of these ecosystems certainly make the Padaido Islands look like a giant aquarium with great tourism potential.
Not only that, but this archipelago also has as many as 48 species of trees, 26 species of birds that will be of interest to bird watchers, 14 species of reptiles, and seven species of mammals that will spoil animal lovers.
5. Savu Sea, East Nusa Tenggara
If you have never seen a real whale, then this is the right time to visit the Savu Sea Marine National Park.
Although there is much marine life in the waters, whales are still the prima donna. Because you won't just see one or two whales.
If you are lucky, you can see about 30 whales roaming the Savu Sea.
However, if you want to see fish that are slightly smaller than whales, you can see various types of dolphins there. Not only that, turtles and pelagic fish often visit the Savu Sea.
So far the Savu Sea has about 500 types of corals, 336 types of reef fish, 11 species of fish with the order Cetacea, and three types of turtles.
